Start by flushing your entire gutter system. Depending on your roof, slightly lift the shingles and slide the gutter guard underneath, or insert it directly inside the gutter. Pull the front edge forward to engage with the gutter lip. For adjoining sections, cut an overlap notch or use the pre-notched end. Always wear safety glasses and leather gloves when installing.
When backfilling your perforated pipe, do not use small pea gravel or crushed rock as these materials can clog the perforations and prohibit drainage. Use a 1- to 2-inch layer of washed gravel instead, layered over landscaping fabric.
