Your guide to setting up and operating your smart door/window sensor.

The ONENUO Tuya WiFi Door Window Sensor is a smart magnetic contact sensor designed to detect the open/close status of doors and windows. It integrates with the Tuya Smart Life platform and supports voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Home, providing enhanced security and automation for your home or office.

3. Setup agus Stàladh

3.1. Stàladh bataraidh

  1. Push the mounting bracket upward to detach it from the main sensor body.
  2. Insert two AAA 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity as indicated by the graphics inside the bin.
  3. After inserting the batteries, the indicator light on the sensor will flash briefly and then turn off.
  4. Reattach the mounting bracket to the main sensor body.

Download the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from your mobile device's app store (Google Play for Android, App Store for iOS). Alternatively, scan the QR code below:

  4. The app will start 'Discovering devices'. Once the 'Contact Sensor' appears, tap 'Add'.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network password when prompted. The device will then connect to your Wi-Fi network automatically.
  6. Once successfully added, the app will display 'Device added successfully'. Tap 'Done'.

3.4. Stàladh Corporra

The sensor consists of two parts: a main body and a magnetic strip. They should be installed on the door/window frame and the moving part of the door/window, respectively.

  2. Peel off the 3M adhesive tape from the back of both the main sensor body and the magnetic strip.
  3. Stick the main sensor body to the door/window frame and the magnetic strip to the door/window itself.
  4. Ensure the distance between the transmitter (main body) and the magnetic strip is less than 10mm when the door/window is closed for optimal performance. Avoid installing near strong magnetic fields.

4.1. App Monitoring and Notifications

Once connected, you can access the sensor's interface in the Smart Life app. The app will display the current status (open/closed) and send instant notifications to your phone when the door or window status changes.

4.2. Smachd Guth

The sensor works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can use voice commands to check the status of your doors and windows. For example, say "Alexa, is the door locked?" or "Hey Google, check status of door sensor in bedroom."

4.3. Ceangal Inntinneach

Leverage the Tuya Smart Life platform to create automation scenarios:

  • Security Scene: Set up an 'away from home' mode. If the sensor detects a door opening, it can trigger an alarm, send a notification to your phone, and if linked with an IP camera (not included), it can initiate video recording.
  • Convenience Scene: Link the sensor with smart lights. For example, when a door opens, the lights can automatically turn on, and when it closes, the lights can turn off (requires a compatible Wi-Fi switch for lights).

4.4. Sharing Devices

You can share your added devices with family members through the Smart Life app. This allows multiple users to monitor the environment and receive alerts.

The sensor is powered by 2*AAA 1.5V batteries. It features a low-battery reminder function that will push messages through the Tuya app when the power is low. Replace batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Note on Battery Life: The battery life is directly related to how frequently the sensor is triggered. More frequent triggers will result in shorter battery life.

5.2. Glanadh

To maintain optimal performance, periodically wipe the sensor and magnetic strip with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
