4. Toradh thallview
Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your lapidary machine.

- Cumhachd motair: 1/4 HP (Approx. 186W) asynchronous induction motor for quiet operation and long lifespan.
- Raon astair: Up to 2800 RPM, with variable speed control.
- Uachdar-obrach: Brushed stainless steel for durability and precision.
- Rangaichte Voltage/Tricead: 110-120V AC/60Hz.

- Pannal Smachd: Features independent run/stop button, forward/reverse rotation switch, and speed control knob.
- Shaft Center Safety Design: Edge drainage port for fast water removal; hollow shaft design prevents friction with plastic parts during rotation.
- Geàrd-splash: Effectively blocks water and debris splatter.
- Rubber Foot Pads: Non-slip and anti-vibration design with a 22-lb (10 kg) weighted body ensures stable, wobble-free operation.
5. Suidhich
Follow these steps to set up your lapidary machine before first use.
5.1 Grinding Disc Installation
- Remove the nut and washer from the central shaft.
- Place the desired grinding disc flat and steady onto the grinding table.
- Put the washer and nut back onto the shaft sequentially, then tighten securely using the provided wrench.

5.2 Water Cooling and Drainage Setup
- Connect the water pump to a suitable water reservoir (not included).
- Attach the water pipe set, including the adjustable multi-angle nozzle, to the water pump and position it to direct water onto the center of the grinding disc.
- Locate the drain hose extending from the left side of the unit. Fully extend this hose to ensure water can flow freely through it. The hose should reach a length approximately equal to that of your forearm.
- Ensure the drain hose is positioned to direct wastewater into a suitable container or drain.

Thoir an aire: Once the drain hose is fully extended, water should flow through it freely, preventing the pan from filling up. When not in use, retract the hose back into the main unit to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
5.3 Ceangal cumhachd
- Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a grounded 110-120V AC/60Hz electrical outlet.

6. Obrachadh
This section details how to operate your lapidary machine for grinding and polishing.
6.1 Ceumannan Obrachaidh Bunasach
- Cumhachd air: Flip the main power switch to the ON position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Tòisich Motair: Brùth an RUN putan air a’ phannal smachd.
- Atharraich astar: Turn the speed control knob to achieve the desired RPM. Start with a lower speed and gradually increase as needed.
- Tagh Stiùireadh Rothlaidh: Cleachd an FWD/REV switch to select the rotation direction (forward or reverse) as required for your task.
- Apply Water: Ensure the water pump is active and the adjustable nozzle is directing a steady stream of water onto the grinding disc.
- Bleith/Snasadh: Gently place the material onto the rotating disc, applying light, consistent pressure. Move the material across the disc surface to ensure even grinding.
- Stad a chur air a’ motair: Brùth an STOP button to halt the disc rotation.
- Cumhachd dheth: Flip the main power switch to the OFF position when finished.

6.2 Using Different Grits
The machine comes with multiple diamond grinding discs for progressive material removal and finishing.
- 180# Disc (Coarse): For aggressive material removal and initial shaping. Produces rough texture with clearly visible scratch patterns.
- 320# Disc (Medium-Coarse): For refining shape and removing coarser scratches. Results in a semi-rough, fine sandpaper-like finish.
- 600# Disc (Fine): For smoothing the surface and preparing for polishing. Leaves a smooth but slightly hazy finish, similar to frosted glass.
- 1200# Disc (Very Fine): For pre-polishing and achieving a near-mirror effect with no detectable graininess.

6.3 Faceting with Wooden Dop Sticks
The included wooden rod can be used to create dop sticks for precision facet cutting. Secure your gemstone to the dop stick and use it to hold and manipulate the stone against the grinding disc for controlled faceting.

7. Cumail suas
