  1. Locate the side-sliding cover on the NAS unit.

  3. Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD into the designated slot on the motherboard.
  4. Secure the M.2 SSD with the provided screw.
  5. Close the side-sliding cover and tighten the screws.

2.4 Connecting the NAS

Connect the NAS to your network and power source.

  1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to one of the 2.5GbE ports on the back of the NAS and the other end to your router or switch.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the NAS power input and plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  3. Press the power button to turn on the NAS.

3. Operating the NAS

3.1 Initializing the System

After connecting the NAS, you will need to initialize the system and install the operating system (TOS).

  • Use the TerraMaster TNAS PC client or a web browser to discover your NAS on the network.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest TOS 6 operating system.
  • Configure your storage pool, including RAID type (e.g., TRAID, RAID 0/1/5/6/10/JBOD/Single).
