Follow these steps for safe and efficient operation of your wood boiler stove.

4.1 Fuel Type

Only use dry, seasoned wood or approved wood briquettes. The moisture content of wood should be below 20% for optimal efficiency and reduced emissions. Burning wet wood leads to creosote buildup and reduced heat output.

4.2 Starting a Fire

  1. Open all air inlets (primary and secondary air controls) fully.
  2. Place crumpled newspaper or firelighters at the bottom of the combustion chamber.

  4. Place a few small logs on top of the kindling.
  5. Ignite the newspaper/firelighters.

4.3 Adding Fuel and Air Control

  1. Before opening the combustion chamber door, open the air controls fully for a few moments to prevent smoke spillage.
  2. Carefully open the door and add more logs as needed.
  3. Close the door and adjust the air controls to achieve the desired burn rate and heat output. Reduce primary air for a slower burn, and secondary air for cleaner combustion.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your stove.

  • Ensure the fire is completely out and the ashes are cool before removal.

5.2 Cleaning the Combustion Chamber and Flue

  • Periodically clean the interior of the combustion chamber to remove any creosote buildup.
  • The second upper door facilitates easy cleaning of the internal components.
  • The flue pipe and chimney should be inspected and cleaned by a certified chimney sweep at least once a year, or more frequently if burning resinous wood.
