2. Stiùireadh Sàbhailteachd

Always observe general safety regulations when operating power tools. Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit. Keep children and bystanders away. Do not operate the machine in damp or wet conditions. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection.

  • Before connecting the machine, ensure the voltage co-ionnan ris an t-solar cumhachd agad.
  • Na bogadh an aonad motair ann an uisge gu bràth.
  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any adjustments, maintenance, or when the machine is not in use.
  • Ensure the water tank is filled to the correct level before starting operation to prevent overheating of the grinding wheel and workpiece.
  • Do not force the tool. Let the machine and grinding wheel do the work.
  • Thoir sùil gu cunbhalach air a ’chorda chumhachd airson milleadh.

3. Suidhich

The Scheppach Tiger 7000s is designed for straightforward assembly. Place the unit on a stable, level surface. The integrated rubber feet provide stability and reduce vibration during operation.

  1. A' dì-phapadh: Thoir a h-uile pàirt a-mach às a’ phacaid gu faiceallach. Dèan cinnteach gu bheil na pàirtean uile a tha air an liostadh air an liosta pacaidh an làthair agus gun mhilleadh.
  2. Suidheachadh: Place the grinding system on a sturdy workbench or table. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for safe operation and access to the water tank.
  3. Tanca uisge: Position the water tank correctly under the grinding wheel.
  4. Grinding Wheel Installation: Ensure the corundum grinding wheel (250 x 50 mm, 220K grit) is securely mounted.
  5. Honing Wheel Installation: Mount the leather honing wheel (200 x 30 mm) on the opposite side.
  6. Bàr Taic: Install the universal support bar for jigs.

4. Stiùireadh Obrachaidh

The wet-grinding system is designed for precise and cool sharpening. Always ensure the water tank is adequately filled before starting the machine.

Before each use, fill the water tank with clean water. The water level should be sufficient to immerse the lower part of the grinding wheel. This ensures continuous cooling and prevents the workpiece from losing its temper (annealing).

4.2 Using the Angle Gauge

Figure 5: Top image shows a universal jig for straight standard tools. Middle image shows applying polishing paste to the leather honing wheel. Bottom image shows using the angle gauge to quickly set the required grinding angle.

The included angle gauge is crucial for achieving consistent and precise sharpening results. Use it to determine and set the correct grinding angle for your specific tool before you begin grinding. This ensures optimal sharpness and edge durability.

4.3 Pròiseas Bleith

  • Ullachadh inneal: Secure your tool in the appropriate grinding jig. For example, the universal jig is suitable for many straight standard tools.
  • A' bleith: Gently guide the tool against the rotating grinding wheel, maintaining the angle set with the angle gauge. Apply light, consistent pressure. The wet grinding process will create a burr on the opposite side of the edge.
  • Deburring with Leather Honing Wheel: After grinding, use the leather honing wheel to remove the burr and achieve a perfectly sharp edge. Apply the removal paste to the leather wheel for polishing.
