  1. Ullaich na Meadhanan Criathrag: Fosgail ceann an criathrag le bhith ga leigeil ma sgaoilasing the locking clips. Remove the filter baskets. Rinse any new filter media (e.g., sponges, ceramic rings) thoroughly under tap water to remove dust. Arrange the media in the baskets according to the manufacturer's recommendations (typically coarse mechanical at the bottom, fine mechanical/biological in the middle, chemical at the top).
  2. Assemble Inlet and Outlet Pipes: Attach the strainer to the inlet pipe and the spray bar to the outlet pipe. Use the provided suction cups and clips to secure these pipes inside your aquarium. Position the inlet pipe near the bottom of the aquarium and the outlet pipe near the surface for optimal water circulation.
  3. Ceangail pìoban: Cut the hoses to the appropriate length, ensuring they are long enough to reach the filter unit without kinks. Connect one hose to the inlet pipe and the other to the outlet pipe inside the aquarium.
  4. Attach Hoses to Filter Head: Connect the hoses from the aquarium to the hose adapter on the filter head. Ensure the "IN" hose from the aquarium's inlet pipe connects to the "IN" port on the adapter, and the "OUT" hose from the aquarium's outlet pipe connects to the "OUT" port. Secure the hoses with the provided clamps.
  5. Secure Filter Head: Place the filter baskets back into the filter unit. Ensure the sealing gasket is correctly seated on the filter head. Carefully place the filter head onto the filter canister and secure it by engaging all locking clips firmly.
  6. Cuir an criathrag an àite: Place the filter unit on a stable surface below the aquarium's water level. This is crucial for the filter to prime correctly and operate efficiently.

5. Obrachadh

  1. Fill the Filter with Water: Before connecting to power, ensure the filter is filled with water. Open both shut-off valves on the hose adapter. Water from the aquarium will flow into the filter by gravity. You may need to gently tilt the filter or use a priming aid (if available on your model) to remove air. Wait until water flows out of the outlet hose back into the aquarium, indicating the filter is full and primed.
  2. Ceangail ri cumhachd: Once the filter is fully primed and all connections are secure and leak-free, plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The pump will start, and water will begin circulating through the filter.
  3. Check for Leaks and Air: Observe the filter and hoses for any leaks. Listen for unusual noises, which may indicate trapped air. If air is present, gently tilt the filter unit to help release it.
  4. Adjust Flow (if applicable): Some models may have flow adjustment. Refer to specific instructions for your model if you wish to adjust the water flow rate.

6. Cumail suas

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your EHEIM Experience 250 filter.

  6. Meadhanan Glan: Remove the filter baskets. Rinse mechanical filter media (sponges, pads) in old aquarium water (not tap water) to preserve beneficial bacteria. Replace fine filter floss as needed. Biological media should only be gently rinsed if heavily clogged, again using old aquarium water.
  7. Glan an Canister agus a’ Cheann: Clean the inside of the filter canister and the impeller chamber in the filter head. Ensure the impeller is free of debris.
  8. Ath-thionndaidh: Reassemble the filter in reverse order. Ensure the O-ring on the filter head is clean and properly seated before securing the head with the clips.
  9. Ath-thòiseachadh: Reconnect the hose adapter, open the valves, and prime the filter as described in the "Operating" section before plugging it back in.

6.2. Hose Cleaning

Hoses can accumulate biofilm over time, reducing flow. Clean hoses periodically (e.g., every 6-12 months) using a flexible hose brush. Disconnect hoses from both the filter and the aquarium for thorough cleaning.
